To create a shape in Microsoft Office Word, the following steps should be taken:
-
Open a new document in Microsoft Word
-
Select the “Insert” tab and click on “Shapes”
-
Within the “Shapes” function, follow these steps
-
Under “Recently Used Shapes” use your cursor to select the diagonal line
-
Drag the line to the blank Word document and manipulate it until it is horizontal and approximately 4” long. Note: To ensure that the line is perfectly straight, you can click on “View” and then select “Gridlines” to use as a guide
-
When the line is straight, right click on it and select “Copy” to create a second line
-
Drag the second line so that it is approximately 2” above or below the first line
-
Repeat the same steps twice to create the two vertical lines
-
-
After the rectangle is completed, click on “Shapes” again and select a circle from the “Basic Shapes” menu. Place it in the rectangle on the left side
-
From the right vertical line of the rectangle, create a triangle that is contained within the rectangle. To create the lines, follow the same process in steps 3a-c.
